A bulletin from sick bay

Just a quick update on our poor victimised hen. I wasn’t expecting her to recover but she was quite bouncy today and showing interest in food and water, especially being hand fed mealworms. Yum. She even put up some resistance being put to bed early (I was going out for the evening). Her wound is looking dry and clean.
The other two were creating quite a fuss at the special treatment she is getting.
The important thing for reintroducing her to the coop is that they all can see each other still. Her crate is right up against the coop and at night I place her in the nesting part of the henhouse with a glass shelf from our fridge preventing the other two from disturbing her rest. Quite inspired I thought! They can see her, she can see them, but no further harm can occur.
I will give her another day to herself and then see how it goes.
Thanks all for your concerns. It’s such a big bad mad world you are very kind to think of one wee birdie.

Thank you for the update! I adore your girls! And this dear one is looking so perky today, I hope she continues to improve. I can promise you this little hen is much more engaging then what the news is hyping right now! The world is just so crazy and a bit depressing!
